Both me & my baby son is not feeling well at the moment. But thank god my baby is gradually feeling better; just having bits of cough & runny nose now.

And as for me, I'm down with a flu which must have been caused by the crazy weather and of course taking way too much of that local exotic fruit: the Durian.

It's an evil fruit but it is also one of my favs :)

Being paranoid

My 105 days of maternity leave is over as I will resume work tomorrow. Somehow I think I've been on leave like for a year long already. I began my leave end of October last year and ended today this year. See, that's like a year!

It will also mean it's my first time leaving my baby boy home. My baby is already 3 months and 3 weeks old as we speak. Back at home, my mom employed a new maid/nanny that will take care of my baby but to make my story short, I simply just don't trust her to be left alone with my baby. My mom has also been installing surveillance camera around the house to keep an eye on our new maid while she's taking care of her grandchild. That make my mom as a paranoid grandma too.

Anyway, thanks to technology that I can simply access to watch the home cctv through my smart phone anytime and anywhere that I want. There is a free app for that, both can be found from the Android market and the Apple store. But still the worries are always there. I even prepared a four pages written manual on how to take care of my baby for the maid. YUP! It's a four pages of purely readable font, all in big caps, mostly bold and underlined details on how to take care of my baby and making sure it is understandable.

I myself do not find this to be normal but as a new mom and having my first baby I think I have the right to be paranoid and at the same time hoping the approach to be effective. I'm tempted to make a video tutorial but I guess that's way too much. Hehe!

A Fresh Start

Dear Blog,

It's 2012! Happy New Year!

...And how did I celebrate the new year? I did not. Normally my family will gather around having small party with lots of foods, barbeques and karaokes, excitingly looking up to the sky watching fireworks, wowing on that but it's basically a food fest to me. That's my family tradition anyway. But it did not happen this time because of three things: 1/ We actually celebrated a day earlier! 2/Everyone has their own plans for the eve and 3/ It was raining. So that made most of us just stayed home. I guess watching the countdown from the tv was more interesting...besides the rain continued to pour heavily when the clock hit 12 midnight. Yup, it's a wet new year!

This year is indeed a fresh start for everything in my life as it is like our (Hubby and I) first year being a parent to our baby boy. (Plus the three months ago last year.) My baby boy himself is learning faster each day. He's already started baby-talking; With the Coo's, the Aah's and the Hey's, wearing cute smiles and one most important thing that I am so relieved for - no longer a grumpy as the Angry Birds! It just excites me to watch him growing up. Speaking of that...I need to grow up too! Hehehe. Few of my friends still cannot believe that I am now a mom. I am still that cute playful kid in their eyes. (I will take that as a compliment - Thank you.) ;))

The Angry birds enthusiasm saga:

While hubby is having a non fatal OCD of achieving 3 stars in each level of the Angry birds game series, I myself is trying to enhance my crafty skills on those birds (and few green pigs!)...

Such as making Angry Birds out of clay...

Although it does not look so neat I at least got them into shapes. Did this clay job (with the help of a colleague from work) while I was still in my first trimester pregnancy.
Now my son is 2 months old as we speak, I am moving on to paper crafting...

This is what I got so far; the black Angry Bird.

Next project to do: Making sock puppets of Angry Birds! *Squawk!*

Hello! Ok I know, I know! It's been ages I haven't been updating my blog. I hope my blog is not haunted while I'm 'on-leave.' I had my FIRST ultrasound few days ago and yeah that was my first time seeing Baby Didzlet too!

How's the feeling?
It's hard to describe... It just so amazing! Baby Didzlet is so beautiful!

Unfortunately, I did not have the soft copy of my ultrasound image (I wanted to post it here) and it is still too early to know the baby's gender.

Will have the second baby scan in June :)

So I am almost passing my first trimester and my baby bump is not that obvious yet. (I'm still having a normal tummy shape). Ah, the morning sickness...

Morning sickness: Morning sickness refers to the nausea and vomiting that some women have when they become pregnant. Morning sickness is very common early in a pregnancy. It tends to go away later in pregnancy, and it's almost always gone by the second trimester (after 13 weeks, or during the fourth month).

Guess what?
I'm not experiencing the morning sickness. Not at all!
It's a bless!

But I often feel nauseated having to look at my boss face at work.
(Doesn't really matter if I'm pregnant or not!)

I'm sick at the moment and I haven't been really sick for about a year. Now when it attacked it make me feel so horrible overall... you know with stuffy nose, blocked ears and I hardly have a voice! I hate being sick but at least I don't have to go to work today.

1. I never like wearing high heels. Crabs walk better than myself walking in high heel!
2. I'm easily touched (usually with teary eyes) when watching performances where standing ovation occurred.
3. I always find tap dancing is fun. I wanna learn how to tap dance someday.
4. I at least bought a new pair of footwear each month. Some for immediate use and I keep some for future use.
5. I have more black shirts than any other colors. (Actually, I just noticed this.)
6. I've problem in deciding things even for minor things. Normally I asked others to decide for me.
7. I'm hot to touch! (Seriously!) I've unusual body temperature. Some people thought I'm having a fever but I'm not. (Hey, does this mean I'm a devil???)

This is a risky entry.

Location: Taste of Asia, LCCT, Malaysia.
The restaurant was full when we arrived but I managed to grab a table while hubby was lining up to order lunch. While waiting suddenly an old man came up to me with a tray of his food. I didn't understand what he was saying but he began to sit in front of me and started eating. Speechless, I looked at him, looked around checking if I was being punk'ed or something. None. Then I decided to take a picture of him...

I figured he must be really hungry or he will miss his flight. Tsk tsk tsk!
Poor old man.

I kept waiting for hubby, once in a while I turned to my left looking at the innocent old man eating and as I turned to my right...

When in KL: Batu Caves

This is Batu Caves! A good friend; Ning Li mentioned this place to me before my trip.

Batu Caves is a temple complex for Hindu worshipers and also a popular tourist attraction site. The temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan.

This is Lord Murugan. This 42.7m statue is known to be the tallest Lord Murugan statue in the world. That's totally a WOW!

The temple complex consists of 3 main caves and the largest one known as the Temple Cave is way up there!

You have to climb a steep flight of 272 steps in order to reach the Temple Cave. It was raining again when we arrived in Batu Caves that Sunday morning and climbing the stairs during a wet day wasn't easy...

This is the highest I could climb. I think that's about 100 steps or less. I didn't continue further as I was already feeling dizzy plus I'm so afraid of heights. I really don't wanna end up making a world history of rolling over the stairs to the ground. Lol! But overall, it's one heck of an experience I should never forget. :)

Nooo...this isn't a statue! I found this monkey searching for food nearby the ground shrine while I was filming the place. I wanted to get much closer to him for a better shot but he was showing his teeth when some visitors tried to get nearer. I also don't wanna end up being attacked by a temple monkey, so it's better safe than sorry :)

When in KL : Little India

...and I'm back! I'm back from a short weekend in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!

This is my fourth time in KL so this time my hubby and I were concentrating to explore just around the city itself. We were staying around a place called the Little India, which is situated at Masjid India Street (One of the oldest streets in the city).

It was raining when we first arrived in the city and it continued to pour for the next couple of days making it quite difficult for us to walk around and my cameras were soaking wet. Thank god they're still working.

Little India is famous for its colorful textiles, clothing and accessories shopping. You can find most of the materials here to be of the cheapest and price is usually negotiable.

Of course finding textiles of a fine quality and cheap can make one go crazy! I managed to control myself in spending crazily over here.
(Err, I mean compare to my previous experience shopping in Little India.)
I still have plenty of interesting things to share with you when I'm in KL in my upcoming entries.

P.S: I've sore feet due to extreme walking. It surely is not a happy feet.

This is my third post of the day and to tell you the truth, I am so very high at the moment. Must be because of the nice weather :) Anyway, here's something to fill in for the weekend, a flash game called QWOP.

I was on my way home after sending my BFF when I saw a pink Lexus sport car just few meters ahead. It's not everyday you get to see a pink car especially a Lexus here in my country. Then I noticed it was a guy driving it! So I chased him! :)

The image above is the closest I could get because I think he noticed me taking few snaps. In my country, it's quite unacceptable for guys to have or drive super pink cars. There's only two explanation for that:
#1. He's gay.
#2. He's driving his gf/wife's car.

Today I was shockrised (shocked + surprised) to discover that my female colleague has shaved her head (almost completely bald!) Here are our reactions to that:

Female Friend 1: "Are you broken-hearted?!"
Female Friend 2: "Ah, you really meant what you said about shaving your head!"
Male Friend 2: "Are you going to prison?... "Are you joining the army?"
Male Friend 3: "I'm not happy to see your head. My hair is longer than yours."
Me: .......?????!!!......(Speechless, as usual.)

Then she explained it was a desperate act because she has a serious scalp & dandruff problems. I salute her for the effort :) and remain cool about it.

A good friend of mine came up to me with an interesting offer yesterday. He was going to find out what is the most suitable high heel shoes for me to wear. Eager to know so I told him to go ahead, fascinate me...

Hamster delays Oz-bound RBA plane: Report

A Brisbane-bound plane from the UK was delayed in Brunei yesterday after a stowaway hamster was found on-board, Australia's Herald Sun reported.

The high-flying rodent was seen running around the cabin by flight crew and caused the Royal Brunei Airlines flight to be evacuated while airline staff searched for it, the paper quoted Courier-Mail as reporting. The plane was also fumigated.

Everybody that knows me around was asking me if that could have been Lucy. Two reasons for that:

#1. My sister is working in the aviation industry, maybe Lucy followed her to work.

#2. Lucy is so tempted to join that international crime-busting organization (G-Force).

Lucy: It wasn't me!

In just less than a month, I'll be officially known as Mrs. Y :) I hardly talk about my fiance so today I'm gonna share a little fun fact about him.

He always find history a fascinating subject. Besides from spending times with me, he'd spend times following the Discovery Channel, the National Geographic and obviously the History Channel. He won't miss sharing me some history stories - world or local, and amazingly I never grew bored listening to his stories (Err...so far.) Yup, I'm gonna be married to a great historian. Hehehe.

Now here's my thoughts that most likely to happen when we finally get married. Our honeymoon - it's gonna be visiting to some museums. :O I'm hoping on the wedding night he's not gonna tell me the history of ...(You get what I mean). That can wait. Write me a book, I'll read it. ;)

Finding Lucy

I lost my pet, Lucy! :( It's been like 5 days now she's been missing. I managed to caught her once when she escaped, she was roaming around in my sister's room next door. So I put her back in the cage and the next morning, she's gone. Yup, she has outsmarted me.

I'm not sure if she's still alive and there's no sign of her anywhere in the house. Hm, I should have had planted a GPRS tracking device chip to her you know. Now that she's gone, I'll be missing her so much.
Ok Didz, think positive. Maybe she's joining the G-Force team.

(Note to self: Get some GPRS tracking devices for my other pets)

for work! Tomorrow will be my last holiday after my 2 weeks of work leave. I'll resume work on Monday. Gahh! I used to be so anxious to go back to work after holidays but not this time. That's because I'm enjoying my holiday to the max this time :) and I want more! The other reason why I'm not really looking forward to go to work is honestly because...

The Training

The BLS training I've attended last Monday...

I'd say it was more like a crash course and I haven't been doing it since...I'm not sure! :O
The course was for 12 straight freaking hours! The lecture was only for 1 hour while the rest of the 11 hours were occupied with demonstration and right away a written test and practical tests for 5 different BLS situations.

Honestly, it was something new for me and I haven't had lunch for the first time while on training. haha. Anyway, I found it funny at the first place how the BLS instructors were acting as if we were really in a real situation (Yeah, felt like I'm in a middle of a tv drama/soap opera). At the back of my mind was wondering "Should I act as a successful actress or a confident doctor for this?!" because knowing that I am already a clumsy and a panic-freak...I just don't wanna be myself!

Although I found it hard at the start on how to save choking infant, amazingly I passed all the exams! Yay me! Thanks to all the dummies for the drop dead exhausting but great day. Hehe. I can save life now :)

Sigh! Why everything has to happen while I'm on leave?! I'm still enjoying my leave at the mo (another week to go before I really come back to work). I'm asked to come to work tomorrow because I've to attend the BLS (Basic Life Support) training.

Well, it's for a good cause anyway.

I recently watched the Piranha 3D movie...

I gotta say it's one heck of a very nasty (& disgusting) movie.
It's gonna make you do lots and lots of Eeew-ing from the moment those piranhas started to attack.
But I like it :) just as thrilling as Final Destination movies.
