Things at work has been really hectic around this week as I had lots of experiment to conduct manually. Sheesh! What happened to those costly hi-tech testing machines?...

Unwell

Both me & my baby son is not feeling well at the moment. But thank god my baby is gradually feeling better; just having bits of cough & runny nose now.

And as for me, I'm down with a flu which must have been caused by the crazy weather and of course taking way too much of that local exotic fruit: the Durian.

It's an evil fruit but it is also one of my favs :)

Being paranoid

My 105 days of maternity leave is over as I will resume work tomorrow. Somehow I think I've been on leave like for a year long already. I began my leave end of October last year and ended today this year. See, that's like a year!

It will also mean it's my first time leaving my baby boy home. My baby is already 3 months and 3 weeks old as we speak. Back at home, my mom employed a new maid/nanny that will take care of my baby but to make my story short, I simply just don't trust her to be left alone with my baby. My mom has also been installing surveillance camera around the house to keep an eye on our new maid while she's taking care of her grandchild. That make my mom as a paranoid grandma too.

Anyway, thanks to technology that I can simply access to watch the home cctv through my smart phone anytime and anywhere that I want. There is a free app for that, both can be found from the Android market and the Apple store. But still the worries are always there. I even prepared a four pages written manual on how to take care of my baby for the maid. YUP! It's a four pages of purely readable font, all in big caps, mostly bold and underlined details on how to take care of my baby and making sure it is understandable.

I myself do not find this to be normal but as a new mom and having my first baby I think I have the right to be paranoid and at the same time hoping the approach to be effective. I'm tempted to make a video tutorial but I guess that's way too much. Hehe!

Shortly after the 911 emergency number became available, an elderly and quite ill lady appeared in a Rochester hospital emergency room, having driven herself to the hospital and barely managing to stagger in from the parking lot. The horrified nurse said, 'Why didn't you call the 911 number and get an ambulance?'

The lady said, 'My phone doesn't have an eleven.'

A Fresh Start

Dear Blog,

It's 2012! Happy New Year!

...And how did I celebrate the new year? I did not. Normally my family will gather around having small party with lots of foods, barbeques and karaokes, excitingly looking up to the sky watching fireworks, wowing on that but it's basically a food fest to me. That's my family tradition anyway. But it did not happen this time because of three things: 1/ We actually celebrated a day earlier! 2/Everyone has their own plans for the eve and 3/ It was raining. So that made most of us just stayed home. I guess watching the countdown from the tv was more interesting...besides the rain continued to pour heavily when the clock hit 12 midnight. Yup, it's a wet new year!

This year is indeed a fresh start for everything in my life as it is like our (Hubby and I) first year being a parent to our baby boy. (Plus the three months ago last year.) My baby boy himself is learning faster each day. He's already started baby-talking; With the Coo's, the Aah's and the Hey's, wearing cute smiles and one most important thing that I am so relieved for - no longer a grumpy as the Angry Birds! It just excites me to watch him growing up. Speaking of that...I need to grow up too! Hehehe. Few of my friends still cannot believe that I am now a mom. I am still that cute playful kid in their eyes. (I will take that as a compliment - Thank you.) ;))

Getting crafty

The Angry birds enthusiasm saga:

While hubby is having a non fatal OCD of achieving 3 stars in each level of the Angry birds game series, I myself is trying to enhance my crafty skills on those birds (and few green pigs!)...

Such as making Angry Birds out of clay...

Although it does not look so neat I at least got them into shapes. Did this clay job (with the help of a colleague from work) while I was still in my first trimester pregnancy.
Now my son is 2 months old as we speak, I am moving on to paper crafting...

This is a fun & good book that you should read even the book title says otherwise. I tried reading this to my baby boy, he cried after few lines. I guess that's a sign he's not ready for school yet. hehe. In all, I myself enjoyed reading it without any tears :p
